Who Will Help You Reach Your Franchise Goals

Whether you’re a brand new franchisee or you’ve been in the franchise game for many years, it is important to always be working toward business goals. Once you reach those goals, set new ones because the moment you stop growing and let complacency set in, your business can be negatively impacted. But goals are not reached alone – throughout your franchise career, there will be important people who can help you reach those goals.

Let’s have a look at some of the people you’ll need to help you reach your franchise goals:

The Mentor

All of the world’s best athletes have coaches. And you should have one too. In order to become the hero of your own business story, you should seek out your very own coach.

A mentor is simply someone who has already done what you are trying to do, or they are someone who otherwise has experience in your field. If you are still in the process of selecting a franchise, one of your mentors might be your franchise consultant. Once you’re invested in the franchise, your mentor might be someone at your franchisor’s head office, or another franchisee with more experience. Remember, it’s ok to have more than one mentor.

Your Customers

Without customers, your business will not go very far. That’s why it’s so important to get to know who your customers are. What demographic are you trying to sell your goods or services to? The better you understand your customers, the better you will be able to serve them. And the better you are able to serve the customers, the stronger the likelihood that they will not only come back but also refer others to your business.

The Sidekick

Every lead actor needs a supporting man or woman. In the franchise world, your sidekick might be your spouse supporting you through the difficult beginnings of starting a business.

Your sidekick might also be a trusted member of your team who you can delegate responsibility to.

Take some time to identify who the sidekicks in your life are and remember to show them the respect and appreciation they deserve for being so crucial to your success and well-being.

The Connector

If you’ve been in the business world for any length of time you know how important it is to know people. And it’s important to know people who know people.  The connector is someone who has connections and can connect you to the right people to help your business grow.

An example of a connector might be your franchise consultant putting you in touch with franchisors that meet your criteria as well as other professionals such as accountants and lawyers.

Other connectors might be people you meet at networking groups or from your previous employer who might introduce you to potential new mentors, sidekicks and customers.

Especially in the early stages of your business, make sure you make time to meet connectors!

As you can see – your franchise success might ultimately be up to you but it cannot depend on only you. Be sure to take some time to recognize those who will help you in your success.
